Description of Duties
- Assist in the research, organization and storage of membership and prospect information
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Raiser's Edge, Outlook, Excel to input and manage data
- Become familiar with data systems and software programs (such as BARC and Raiser's Edge)
and searching resources (such as Boolean, Google and Lexis-Nexis)
- Research and record information from local and professional periodicals, and the
publications of other non-profit organizations
- Aiding in the maintenance of an organized and comprehensive data filing, entry and retrieval system
- Assist with general departmental administration
Qualifications
This internship is open to currently enrolled upper-level undergraduate or graduate
students, or individuals with university degrees. Qualified applicants should have
coursework and/or demonstrated interest in one or more of the following fields:
computer or library science, history, and arts or business administration. If you
are interested in a museum, fundraising, or research-based career, have excellent
computer, research, organizational, and communication skills you are encouraged
to apply.
Other qualifications include:
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and internet research
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Exercise mature judgment, discretion and professionalism in communicating information and determining reliability of sources
- Great attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and fast-paced team environment
Hours
10-20 hours per week for a time period of 8-12 weeks. Hours are flexible, depending on
class schedules with some availability to work from home. Interns preferably will be able
to work in four to five hour blocks.
