Young Art 2007: Exploring Color

April 14-May 27, 2007

Young Art is a biennial exhibition of works created by K-12 students in San Diego's city and county public and private schools. Organized by SDMA's education department, the exhibition gives visitors a chance to see what students achieve when encouraged to use art to explore their imaginations.

This year's theme provided students and teachers the opportunity to explore the symbolic, psychological, and perceptual usages of color. The students' artworks-whether created by a third grader or high school senior-reveal meaningful connections to classroom curriculum, popular culture, works of art from the Museum's collection, and to the young artists' views of themselves and their world.

This year, SDMA is proud to partner with the following locations to provide venues for an additional 175 works:

Allied Gardens/Benjamin Branch Library
