Education is a core mission for the San Diego Museum of Art, and the Museum is committed to providing quality and relevant art programming for adults and children. SDMA offers free tours for all schools county-wide, participates in School in the Park activities, the Balboa Park program, CARE program, provides free docent tours daily, and offers interactive learning via the IMAGE Gallery. Public programs include music, lectures and more. SDMA will continue to provide quality family oriented experiences such as the monthly Family Drop-In Day and quarterly Family Festivals.

The Museum Art School at SDMA is currently reviewing national best practices to ensure the future success of the program. During this review period, the classes, Spring Break, and Summer Camps are not being offered. The Museum looks forward to hosting many exciting programs related to our collections and exhibitions.
